Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre (Thai: ศาลาเฉลิมกรุง; rtgs: Sala Chaloem Krung; literally 'Pavilion of City's Glory') is a theatre inBangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1933. Originally it was called "Sala ChalermThai" (สาลาเฉลิมไทย), "Glory of Thailand". After serving as a cinema for many years it now hosts performances of classical Thai dance theatre.
Experience the haute-beauty of Khon, the traditional Thai classical masked dance based on the Ramayana Epic, at one of the oldest yet most legendary theatre, Sala Chalermkrung. Khon was originally limited to the royal court and is now regarded as one of the finest performances that involve lavish costumes, well-trained dancers and live Thai music.
