Chitralada Palace (Chitralada Royal Villa)
Chitralada Palace also called Chitralada Royal Villa (พระตำหนักจิตรลดารโหฐาน) is the residence of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) and HM Queen Sirikit in Bangkok.
Built in 1913, the residence is surrounded by a moat, and with a total area of 4 square kilometers, is part of the Dusit Palace. The Chitralada Royal Villa is home of the exclusive contain the Chitralada School (โรงเรียนจิตรลดา).
The Dusit Palace complex (พระราชวังดุสิต) is not just a palace but a compound of 13 different royal residences. Among them, The Vimanmek Mansion, built in 1900, is entirely made of teak wood; The Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall, built in 1908; The Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall which was built in 1904, The Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall and Chitralada Royal Villa.
